The Air Force released the first details and artist’s rendering of the new Long Range Strike Bomber, now known as the B-21. Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James says the Air Force is taking suggestions for names for the aircraft. Northrop Grumman won the original competition for the aircraft back in October, but stopped work after the other competitor, Boeing, filed a protest with the Government Accountability Office. The GAO denied that protest, and Northrop started work again with the announcement of the artist’s rendering. Richard Aboulafia, vice president of analysis at the Teal Group, discusses the B-21 on National Defense Week.
