ADM Doran: 3rd Fleet move good strategically, operationally

The Navy is bulking up in East Asia. Reuters reports the Third Fleet is moving across the international dateline to operate in waters in which it usually doesn’t. Admiral Walter Doran (USN ret.) is former Commander of the Seventh Fleet and former Commander in Chief of the US Pacific Fleet. He detailed the assets the Navy is moving, explained the move, and analyzed the decision to move the fleet, on National Defense Week.
