Bensahel: Unrestricted Warfare may force military to stop fighting last war

The concept of Unrestricted Warfare is gaining ground in thought leadership circles as the most likely scenario a military will confront in the future. But that concept is not new; it’s at least 17 years old. Dr. Nora Bensahel  is a Distinguished Scholar in Residence at the School of International Service at American University. She’s also a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council. She and her colleague Lt. General David Barno (USA ret.) write about the source and the concept behind Unrestricted Warfare on War on the Rocks this week. Dr. Bensahel talked about the original book, and their article about it, on National Defense Week.
