Burke: Operational Energy strategy enhances warfighting, not just money saver

The Defense Department’s new Operational Energy Annual Report explains the Pentagon’s execution of the Operational Energy strategy it revised in 2011 and updated again this year. It includes detail on how the department uses energy for operations and how it gets the energy it needs. Sharon Burke is a Senior Advisor at the New America Foundation, and former assistant secretary of Defense for Operational Energy. She explained the significance of the report on National Defense Week.
