Hale: Pentagon’s $2.6B reprogramming request par for the course

The Defense Department asked Congress this week for almost $2.6 billion in reprogramming – moving money Congress appropriated to one account to another account. Defense News reports Undersecretary of Defense Comptroller Mike McCord signed off on the request June 30. Bob Hale is a Fellow at Booz Allen; he was DoD’s Comptroller from 2009 to 2014, and signed off on a few reprogramming requests himself. He explained the process, and results, on National Defense Week.
