Fake parts are making their way into the Defense Department’s supply chain – and into the hands of war fighters. That makes those war fighters vulnerable to the quality of manufacturers that may not adhere to the high standards defense contracts require. Marie Mak, Director of Acquisition and Sourcing Management at the Government Accountability Office, recently submitted details to Congress on what the Defense Department and the contracting community should do to cut counterfeit parts out of the supply chain. She discussed her work on National Defense Week.
