Schulman: NDAA could kill QDR; here’s what should replace it

A Pentagon tradition may be on the way out if the new National Defense Authorization Act becomes law as written. Both the House and Senate versions include changes to the stack of strategy documents the Department releases – including the Quadrennial Defense Review. Loren DeJonge Schulman is Deputy Director of Studies and the Leon E. Panetta Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security. She has a deep portfolio of experience both at DoD and at the National Security Council. She and her colleague Shawn Brimley are writing under the title “Au Revoir QDR” on War on the Rocks. She discussed QDR replacements on National Defense Week.
